We're working hard on another marvellous selection of events for 2012, and we'll keep this page updated with information as it gets confirmed. In the meantime, have a look at what went on during the 2011 Festival:

Bowls Taster Session
10am to 12 noon at Babbacombe Bowling Club, Cary Park
FREE introductory sessions for anyone that would like to try their hand at Bowls under instruction from one of the top Club Players. Just turn up with some flat shoes (no heels) and see if you like it.

Age UK Torbay - Caring for All Exhibition
10am - 4pm in the Festival Marquee on The Downs
Service providers for the over-55s, elderly, housebound or those with disabilities will be promoting and advising on their services at this event.
Among those due to participate are Care Services, Residential Homes, Solicitors, Financial Planners & Insurance Brokers, Home Deliveries, Treatments and Care of Eyes, Ears and Feet, Chiropractor, Disability Aids.

Guided Historical Walk
2.30pm, starting at The Dolphin Inn, St Marychurch Precinct
Organised by Babbacombe & St Marychurch Local History Society
Learn about the history of the area from the Society guides. Takes approximately 90 minutes.

Armed Forces Day
From 10am on Babbacombe Downs
An annual opportunity for the nation to show our support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community: from currently serving troops to Service families, and from veterans to recruits.
There will be displays from the armed forces and British Legions and a grand parade.
The outline timetable is:
10am - Inter Cadet games
12 noon - South West Military fitness demonstration
1pm - Parade of veterans led by the Royal Marine Band Plymouth
2pm - Torbay Brass Band
3pm - Air display
4pm - Beat retreat performed by the Royal Marine Band Plymouth

Babbacombe Fayre

Musical entertainment, Dan the Hat entertains, 30 charity stalls in the Flea Market, hold a bird of prey, cheer the schools' tug of war, try to belly dance, tea and home made cakes, a fun day on the Downs not to be missed.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Babbacombe and St Marychurch

Tessier Gardens guided walks
The Friends of Tessier Gardens will be leading guided walks around this hidden oasis
between 10 am and 4 pm
Meet at the main gate in Lindridge Road. Walk lasts approx 15 minutes.
Entry is free but donations are accepted.
Green Willow Clog Dancers
From 8pm till 9pm in St Marychurch Precinct
An all female dance group, performing traditional clog dances from the North West of England.
Furrough Cross Flower Festival
10am - 4pm at Furrough Cross United Reformed Church
To be opened at 10am by Torbay Carnival Queen Laura Baker and two attendants

Sefton Hotel Charity Concert
From 7.30pm at the Sefton Hotel, Babbacombe Downs
'Babbacombe All Stars' will entertain for Rowcroft Hospice Charity and Babbacombe Festival Funds.
Rocking Ken hosts the show and has a big programme of local acts to introduce, featuring Michael Buble, Shadows and Tina Turner tribute acts.
Plus a massive Prize Draw.
All are welcome but from last year's experience you will need to arrive early to get a seat!

Lions Club Fete on The Downs
From 10am - 4pm on Babbacombe Downs
This year we will be nearer the Cliff Railway end of The Downs, with all our stalls, including:
Win a Football, Win a Cuddly Toy, Win an Inflatable, Lucky Dip, Bric a Brac -
PLUS we will have a small Refreshment stall selling Hot Dogs, Burgers and Bacon Rolls.

Hanbury's Fish & Chips on The Downs Music Festival
From 12 noon - 9.30pm in the Festival Marquee on Babbacombe Downs
Hours of great entertainment including the High Society jazz band, Drew Millin and Cahoots country rock band, Three Bags Full acoustic 3-piece and Dave Can't Dance disco funk band. Also Danceworks Devon Youth Team masterclasses and dancing lessons from Robert and Pauline Mason.
To join in the fun, buy your fish & chips from Hanbury's takeaway in Princes Street and gain free entry into the Festival Marquee.
Compère Steve Laister will conduct a grand charity auction, in aid of Children's Hospice South West, at around 4.30pm.
All other profits to go to Rowcroft Hospice.
